While most of our projects directly support agriculture, our solutions cross over to many other sectors that intersect the agricultural environment, including energy, infrastructure, and government.
At AgriEarth, we take pride in delivering efficient and effective project solutions with professionalism and integrity.
Here are some recent projects we have delivered:
Land suitability assessments for tile drainage improvements
AgriEarth has conducted numerous soil-landscape suitability assessments for tile drainage improvements for private landowners across Manitoba and Saskatchewan. We begin the process by completing desktop assessments using existing and available soil resource information to make suitability and management recommendations for the proposed drainage improvements. Where necessary, field soil classifications and investigations are conducted to gain additional insight on suitability and risks. Reporting summarizes suitability, characterizes risks, and provides recommendations for tile drainage and environmental performance.
Agricultural biosecurity management and monitoring
AgriEarth has recently provided technical leadership to major energy and infrastructure clients in Manitoba. This included the development of biosecurity management plans, field monitoring programs, field monitoring data collection tools, and reporting. These solutions effectively assisted clients in achieving their environmental management and monitoring commitments, specifically for agricultural biosecurity on private agricultural lands affected by their developments.
Land suitability assessments and soil surveys for irrigation projects
AgriEarth has completed soil surveys and land suitability evaluations for over 30 irrigation projects across Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta, British Columbia, and beyond. This has also included, in many instances, developing and supporting environmental assessments to assist clients in acquiring environmental licences for their projects.
Environmental, soil and crop monitoring for agriculture and development projects
AgriEarth is providing environmental monitoring on numerous projects to assist clients in meeting regulatory commitments and environmental objectives. Whether its confirming the return of soil capability and productivity following the construction of a development project in agricultural land, checking water quality in agricultural runoff, or tracking soil salinity changes over time, we gain insight to help clients optimize environmental performance.
Applied agricultural-environmental research
AgriEarth is a co-lead on a research and demonstration project evaluating beneficial management practices for soil-water management in in south-western Manitoba. This project is funded by Manitoba agricultural producer organizations and the Canadian Agricultural Partnership – Ag Action Manitoba Program. Through the project we aim to assist the agricultural industry in Manitoba in making management decisions around excess water, droughtiness, and soil salinity in undulating landscapes.
Beneficial management practices factsheets for tile drainage in Manitoba
AgriEarth, in conjunction with its partner firm PBS Water Engineering Ltd., developed beneficial management practice (BMP) factsheets for agricultural tile drainage in Manitoba. The objectives of these factsheets is to help producers and industry conserve water, improve water quality, and improve soil health. Topics include soil properties and management, nutrient management, cover crops, and professional services. BMP factsheets are located here.
